Paganini Live in Thun

3:35 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

Rock is Alive and Well (despite what some people say...) and the Evidence was plain to see in the Factory Club in Thun on Saturday Night (april 26)! Chain Reaction did a great job of warming up the crowd and at Midnight, Paganini hit the Stage. Despite the fact their was no sound check or line check, the band came up, plugged in and let 'er rip...Diego gave his usual balls to the walls performance. New Bassist Roger "S" Hammered the 4 string Gibson Firebird and the girls were all happy. Dale Powers was yelling about not having a tuner on stage but the fans didn't seem to mind, as he managed to continually tune after each smash of the flying mic stand on the tiny stage. Marco Paganini gave a rousing performance...He was flanked by about 30 fans up front of the stage wearing vintage Paganini memorabila and all were in full support of their main man....the Bad boy of Rock and Roll Live in Thun, Switzerland!!! A great night, and a Great club....!!!

New Years Day in Lenzberg

11:31 AM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

The first day of the year and a new years day mass together with Roy Ellis in Lenzberg, Switzerland. it was another full house, a big extravaganza, Together with the Angel Singers. The crowd of about 350 were overjoyed with the show, and their was a nice bread and wine apero after (actually, their was probably more, but we didn't get there till most of the guests had left..hehe) anyways, a great first show of the year with very good vibes....

Down goes the Piano...

12:45 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

In 27 years of touring around the world playing music, i have yesterday witnessed for the first time what happens when a leg gives out on a grand piano...and all i can say is that it is an amazing site. by the grace of HIM, no one was hurt, which of course gives it a comical edge. While performing the first song of the night, Dale Powers, slightly in trance, heard a big bang followed by the sound of crashing glass. as is normal, the music continued when all of a sudden it was apparent that the keys were on a 45 degree angle. the bar man quipped "don't stop playing" and, still not aware of the actual event, the buffet help quickly lifted the front of the piano, propped it up with some beer cases, swept up the glass and proceeded with their serving drinks. a very surrealistic moment passed in a flash. a big hats off salute goes to mannfred and the team at gallileo's but, sorry guys...as discreet as it was, i think the people noticed....although i give you an A for effort by not acknowledging the fact that it went belly up. after the PA system blew up however, it was obviously the wrong night for boogie woogie...sorry i left an hour early...but hey, maybe no one noticed that either...hehe

Live in Kloten

1:29 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

The last of the Roy Ellis concerts for this year found the dynamic duo just outside of kloten, switzerland. another private function which was a huge sucsess. Roy decided to "funk them up" performing an eclectic mix of reggae, calypso, gospel and funk...the audience was totally thrilled and a spontaneous dance party erupted. a great last gig for this year, and hopefully a sign of good things to come for the next...

Return of the HOTRODFUX

12:03 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

Live in La-Chaux-Des-Fonds, Suisse...the FUX were rocking last night in the Dublin! after a small gig break, the boys were back yesterday to an over full house in the Suisse Romandie...! Joey Fulco had it all going on in a Frank Sinatra hat, giving the people a real taste of New York High-life...plucking and crooning his heart out. Brother Lou-E got a chance again to break out his vintage Ludwig set and give his best Ringo meets Keith Moon nitrous hotrod beats. the Reverend Dale Powers was in rebel rouser mode working up the crowd inbetween his over extended cat killing guitar solos...major shout outs go to Natasha for being acting manager and crowd control....Alice for offering us a place to stay and do whatever we want anytime, the gang from Texas (Liz in particular...you should have played that guitar girl!), the mystery woman with the wolf tattoos, pascal for inviting us to record at his studio for free whenever we want, the gothic gang who submitted to hot rod rockabilly in the end...the bouncers for breaking up all the fights the FUX started with their music....and the whole Dublin team for their extra hours cleaning up all the broken glass and stuff...VIVA LE FUX!!!!!!!!

Live in Chur

12:06 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

Roy Ellis Gospel show in a disco? Got that right! it was a great night in Chur...Roy was in fantastic form, singing great and doing his splits and dances. Tino Tedesco was on bass doing a fine job with his first and only show with Roy this year. Beat Riggenbach returned on tenor sax and really brought the rhythm and blues vibe with him...a shining performance! The P1 disco in Chur really was like stepping into an early 1980's euro dancing cabaret, thanx to a dated selection of music from the DJ and fox dancing and the people really dug the showtime experience. all in all a fun night and gig...a long non-stop/drive/setup/eat/play/drive experience, good vibes and music....

Live in Littau

10:28 AM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

Another private event yesterday with Roy Ellis and co...a very well received show...the public were very happy and Roy was in great form pushing them with a fine selection of songs, turning a gospel concert into a swinging dance party. Tom Wettstein blew in at the last minute from another gig and gave a great performance. Tenor Sax honors were filled by Rolf Haesler from interlaken...a very fine jazz player who handled the position well coming in cold without ever hearing the program...the gig was in a remodeled barn, a very classy affair...the funky monks performed after and the crowd, mostly from zurich got their moneys worth with fine food, fine music and fine organization! 2 thumbs up to Dani for all his great work.......!!!

Live in Freibourg and More

12:07 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

Dale Powers performed yesterday at the CINTRA bar in Freibourg, Switzerland. It was a swinging good time with Brother Lou-E Maiello on drums and things. Mickey Tinguely was really great to us all so we wanna send out a BIG thanx to him! He has as well, asked that we do another encore performance on Tuesday December 7, 2004. After the show, we were invited to see another cool bar on the outside of town in Belfaux. This bar is owned by blues guitarist Kevin Flynn, who was performing with none other then the fantastic blues harpist Bonnie B...of course, no less then 5 minutes in the joint, Bonnie was yelling from the stage "is that Dale Powers i see out there" and the jamming began. Bonnie is an excellent player and it is always a pleasure to join him on stage and the people and the musicians themselves really dug it! Dale powers will be, of course, appearing at "Kevins Bar" in Belfaux sometime in Feburary so watch the news and don't miss that one!

Live in Zurich

10:50 AM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

The big gala event in Zurich last night with Roy Ellis was just that, a big gala event. People are normally not too interested in entertainment at these kinds of functions until 2 hours after dessert when the collective alcohol takes effect and this was no exception. The band played brilliantly considering it was over before they even warmed up, clocking in a 35 minute show. Duke Butler was blowing the tenor sax in all his glory...Tom Wettstein (bass player for subsonic) did an exeptional job of locking in with the band, considering he had only done one quick rehersal and it was his first gig with the program. the food was great, the place was great, the drinks were warm and the people were cold...hehe.....

Live in Regensdorf

11:26 PM / Comments (0) / by zouzoumamoux

The first of Roy Ellis private events for December today in Regensdorf, Switzerland...2 in the afternoon, dripping in sweat...to a full banquet hall...Roy sang his ass off as usual, and i had a chance to check out the ipod for some live applications (viva apple.com) . We had a ball with a hamburger breakfast and received the ultimate compliments....2 extra private engagements at different times on the same day in Zurich, December 17....tis the season y'all.....

Practice makes perfect...
